IMAGINING
AN
IRRATIONALOGICAL PROOF
OF
THE DADA-ANANDA

Is this the dada-ananda?
(doctored cartoon)

The photos below are of the Shroud of Turin, "borrowed" from the Holy Shroud Guild website.
In them is a faint figure that is supposed by some to be the impression Jesus left on the Shroud when he came back to life in the tomb. Maybe yes. Maybe no. We have no comment on that.

To us, what is more noticeable and remarkable are the four faces next to the central figure's sholders and knees. When we first saw photos of the Shroud, it was these faces that immediately leaped out at us. We saw the faint figure that is supposed to be Jesus only after somewhat closer inspection. It was not as obvious.

The appearance of faces are supposed to be where the Shroud was "burned in a fire".

How did this really come about?
We ourselves imagine that Elmo Dadaski went shell shock, curled up in the bomb crater somewhere in Belgum during the Great War, and became manifest as the dada-ananda in an imagined state. That event radiated outward, inspiring dada.

As well as radiating outward into the then comtemporary present, this event radiated outward though time, triggering - igniting - connected events in both the past and the future. One of these events was the fire that burned the dada-ananda's image on the Shroud.

We do not know how many, or how extensive these triggered events may have been. We note (below) the similarity between the dada-ananda's image on the Shroud and Munch's, "The Scream". Is this an inspired, envisioned portrait of Elmo at the moment of manifesting (going over the bridge) into the dada-ananda? And, who is R Mutt anyway? Who is R Crumb? What is imagined and what is real? Is "Bob" really the imagined bastard child of the dada-ananda - as the Wandering Milkman - and Jane Dobbs? Elmo was born a hermphodite - so, could the Wandering Milkman and Jane Dobbs be imaginary manifestations of the same imagined person of the dada-ananda?

This all becomes confusing rather quickly. There is much to doubt. Those who follow the dada-ananda are constantly led into doubt. That is the way. That is the "tao" of the dada-ananda - doubting whether it is "yin" or "yang" from one eternal moment to the next.
And - speaking of doubt - how much doubt is there that the figure on the Shroud is Jesus? How much doubt is there that the Shroud is that old - or, whether there was Jesus, or not?

But, time is not a question for the dada-ananda - whose imagined manifestion radiates through time and space. So, perhaps the same is true for Jesus. Does it matter that we may only be imagining the existence of these persons, and things associated with them? (Talk to Jung about that...)

Why would the two manifest their images on the same piece of cloth? Jesus promised to return. Could this be a sign - an imagined sign - that the dada-ananda is the imagined return of Jesus, as the Christ, the Messiah (considering the image of "Jesus" is faint, as if in the background to the dada-ananda)? Or, is the dada-ananda only one of the rumors of the return of Jesus that were also promised? The image of the dada-ananda and of "Jesus" are negative to one another. Could the dada-ananda be the promised Anti-Christ? Why four images of the dada-ananda, and only one of "Jesus"? Are these the promised four horsemen? It is rumored that Elmo was assigned to an old cavalry unit.

Our proof is in doubt - as is all irrationalogical proof. Our proof is imagined. Our proof is in rumors. There are no facts - except the fact that there is a Shroud of Turin, and the images of four faces appear in its burn marks. Look for the dada-ananda, and one is disillusioned. Our disillusionment confuses us. Our confusion liberates us to doubt everything. Doubting everything leads us to the falseness of truth. The falseness of truth is the beginning of imagination. The beginning of imagination is the threshold of madness. The threshold of madness returns us to ourselves.

We find ourselves sitting beneath the Tree of Life in the Garden, waking from the spell of the Knowledge of Good and Evil we had fallen into - eating the Fruit of the Tree too early in the season, when it was unripe and bitter. Now, it is late. We reach up for another taste - and find the Fruit ripe and sweet. It drools down our chins. We dance away laughing our fool heads off.
    It was a joke...

    Or - something like that.
    Nevermind...
   Get back to work!
